Nearly two months after industrial estates in Tamil Nadu shut operations following the lockdown, 17 large industiral items within the state’s capital Chennai have been granted permission to renew operations. The industrial items, together with those in Guindy and Ambattur, must observe strict COVID-19 protocols once they resume operations from Monday, the state authorities stated in a press release.
As per the order, the items will likely be allowed to operate with 25 per cent work drive for now. Other measures embody thermal screening for employees and necessary two-time disinfection of masks.
The industrial estates have been directed to not make use of employees from containment zones. Even symptomatic employees is not going to be allowed to work, as per the order.
