Bhubaneswar: Two ladies migrant staff gave delivery whereas travelling to Odisha in separate trains on Sunday, officers mentioned.
A girl who was returning residence in a Balangir-bound practice gave delivery to a child woman, they mentioned.
When the Shramik Express from Kazipet in Telangana was approaching Titilagarh, the lady who was accompanied by her husband complained of labour ache, following which the loco pilot stopped the practice at Titilagarh railway station, a railway official mentioned.
On being knowledgeable, the railway divisional medical officer rushed to the station and attended to the pregnant lady who gave delivery to a wholesome child woman, he mentioned. The lady and her little one have been shifted to Titilagarh Government Hospital, he mentioned.
Sub-Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) S Mishra mentioned their situation was said to be steady.
Another lady, who was travelling in a Shramik Special practice, gave delivery to a child whereas being taken to a hospital at Jharsuguda, they mentioned.
“Today afternoon a pregnant lady travelling by Shramik express developed labour pain. The train stopped and she was taken in Police vehicle to hospital. However she delivered in Police vehicle IIC Smt Savitri Bal supervised delivery. Mother and child are fine in DHH Jharsuguda now (sic),” Director General of Police Abhay tweeted.
Earlier, a 35-year-old lady from Odisha had delivered a child boy in Secunderabad-Balangir Shramik Special practice on May 22.
