Dombivli April 17:
A clothing store on Manpada Road, east of Dombivli, caught fire on Saturday afternoon. The shop had a large number of clothes and wooden showcases and the fire was extinguished in a few moments. The exact cause of the fire is not known but the shops have been severely damaged in the blaze.
Suddenly, smoke started coming from a clothing shop called Response in the building adjacent to the Shiv Sena Central Branch in Dombivali East. The locals tried their best to put out the fire. But in an instant, the fire spread like wildfire throughout the shop. The blaze also damaged nearby shops.
Meanwhile, 4 vehicles of Municipal Fire Brigade rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. On the other hand, on learning of the fire, a large crowd of onlookers in the area were stunned to take pictures and shoot videos on their mobiles. The police had to fight a lot to disperse the crowd.
Meanwhile the shop is currently closed due to lockdown. So fortunately no casualties were reported. However, clothes and materials worth lakhs of rupees in the shop have been burnt to ashes. The fire is believed to have been started due to a short circuit.
