kalyan April 7:
The Iranian settlement in the Ambivali area near Kalyan is notorious as the capital of chain snatchers. Khadakpada police, one of the most wanted criminals of Bhopal police in Madhya Pradesh, has caught a glimpse of this Iranian settlement. So now the question is whether this settlement has become a haven for criminals from other states as well.
The accused, identified as Jafar alias Chauhan Yusuf Jafri, has been booked at the Kotwali police station in Bhopal. Bhopal police had also placed a bounty of Rs 10,000 on the most wanted accused. Under the guidance of Khadakpada Police Station Senior Inspector Ashok Pawar, a team of Sub-Inspector Yogesh Gaikar, Constable Jitendra Thoke, Vinod Channe, Deepak Thorat, Ashok Aher, Suresh Bade and Rajaram Gamane caught him, said ACP Anil Powar.
Meanwhile, the Iranian settlement in Ambivali and the chain snatchers seem to have an inseparable relationship. Police teams that went to catch the hardened criminals have also been attacked several times. The thieves living in this slum had looted not only Kalyan Dombivali but also Thane, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and many other cities in the state. Some criminals even spread their criminal network outside the state. Also, the police team that came to arrest the thieves has been attacked several times by thieves and their accomplices in the area. Khadakpada police arrested 19 accused between September 2020 and April 6, 2021, four of them from Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Karnataka.
