Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, Sunil Kamble, has been booked for allegedly slapping an on-duty police constable in Pune on Friday during a programme at the Sassoon General Hospital. Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, Education Minister Hassan Mushrif, and MP Sunil Tatkare were also present at the event.
According to a report by Indian Express, Kamble was irked as his name was not mentioned on the invite for the event as well as on the backdrop at the event stage, despite being the local MLA from the Pune Cantonment constituency.
A video of the incident, shared by ANI, showed Kamble coming down the stairs after the event and slapping the officer who came in his way. WATCH VIDEO:

The officer, a constable of Bundgarden police, lodged a complaint in the matter and a case was registered against Kamble under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code.
Denying the allegation, Kamble said he did not assault anyone and pushed the person as he was coming in his way. “I did not assault anyone. I was coming down the steps when someone came in the way. I pushed him and went ahead,” PTI quoted Kamble as saying.
