BJP movement in Kalyan Dombivali ‘temple closed, bars open’

Kalyan / Dombivali on 13 October:

The BJP today launched a movement against the state government in Kalyan Dombivali, shouting slogans like ‘Temples are closed, bars are open, your government is strange’. The agitation took place outside the Ganesh temple in Dombivli under the leadership of MLA Ravindra Chavan and former MLA Ganpat Gaikwad.

The BJP once again called for agitation against the state government, saying that it had given permission to open bars across the state but doors were still closed for darshan at the temple.

In Kalyan Dombivali, BJP also participated in this statewide agitation and protested against the state government.

A dharna was organized by the BJP outside the Ganesh temple complex, which is the village deity of Dombivli. MLA Ravindra Chavan and several BJP officials were also present.

In Kalyan earlier, led by BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, similar protest was staged in front of the Jarmiri Devi temple. The government allowed beer bars but not temples. The BJP alleged that temples and gyms also needed people.
