Many letters were sent to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray
Kalyan / Dombivali 4 September:
During the lockdown, heavy electric bills were collected from the public by MSEDCL. The BJP agitated today in Kalyan Dombivali to demand reduction of electricity bills. There was a movement in Kalyan East under the leadership of MLA Ganpat Gaikwad and MLA Ravindra Chavan in Dombivli. At this time, a campaign was launched to send several letters to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray regarding the reduction of electricity bill.
During the lockdown due to Corona, many jobs were lost, businesses closed. In such a situation, when people were struggling for two-tiered food, MSEDCL’s electricity bill shocked the citizens. Repeated statements were also made to MSEDCL officials about these increased bills. Although no action was taken by MSEDCL even after this, the BJP today staged a sit-in outside the MSEDCL office. Even after this movement, MSEDCL decided not to reduce the electricity bill.
Meanwhile, as part of this movement, a campaign was launched to send hundreds of letters to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, seeking to reduce electricity bills.
