BJP MP Kapil Patil has demanded that the tax hike in solid waste management levied by the Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation be unfair as the economic condition of the common man is dire during the Corona period. (Cancel Rs 600 tax hike in Kalyan-Dombivali – Demand of MP Kapil Patil)
While Corona is slowly emerging from the second wave of disasters, the corporation has abruptly increased the solid waste management fee by Rs 600. No prior notice was given to the citizens in this regard. MP Kapil Patil drew the attention of Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde and Municipal Commissioner Vijay Suryavanshi.
MP Patil said that the increase in solid waste management fee was wrong as the Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation has not yet picked up the waste from many societies or huts and the bell carts do not reach many places. MP Kapil Patil has demanded immediate postponement of the tax hike as the economic condition of the people is critical due to the Corona disaster.
