New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Saturday registered a case in opposition to self-styled godman Daati Maharaj and another individuals for allegedly congregating at a temple in south Delhi in violation of the federal government tips on coronavirus lockdown, officers mentioned.
On Saturday, it got here to note that some images of a ceremony at Shanidham Mandir, Asola, have been circulated on social media whereby the social distancing norms weren’t being adopted and a non secular congregation was organised in contravention of the lockdown tips, a senior police officer mentioned.
“During preliminary enquiry, it was revealed that on Friday around 7.30 PM, chief priest of Shanidham Mandir Daati Maharaj, along with some other persons, had performed a ceremony at the temple,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Atul Kumar Thakur mentioned.
They violated the federal government tips on lockdown, following which a case underneath related sections was registered at Maidan Garhi police station on Saturday and the investigation has been taken up, the police mentioned.
