Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais inaugurated the 50th National Children’s Science Exhibition at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi on Tuesday. The event, which draws participants from institutions and students nationwide, has evolved into a major celebration of science.
The Governor expressed confidence that the exhibition’s influential display of scientific methodologies would reach every household, given the expected attendance of numerous students. The 50th Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshani (national science exhibition for children) is being organized by the state education department and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) at Balewadi Stadium.
This esteemed event will run from December 26 to December 30, with 172 student teams from 31 states showcasing their projects during the five-day exhibition. The exhibition features 207 stalls representing different regions of India, including 25 stalls allocated to government and voluntary organizations from the state to showcase new educational ideas, success stories, and impactful initiatives.
The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 5 pm until December 30. It covers seven sub-topics that encompass Advances in Information and Communication Technology, Eco-Friendly Materials, Health and Hygiene, Transport and Innovation, Environmental Concerns, Historical Development with Current Innovation, and Mathematics for Us, aligning with the current requirements and relevance of science education.
The event was graced by the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, School Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Principal Secretary of School Education Department Ranjitsinh Deol, NCERT Joint Director Dr Sridhar Srivastava, School Education Commissioner Suraj Mandre, and State Educational Research and Training Council Director Amol Yedge, among others.
