The Maharashtra State Teachers Council has issued Section 4 (1) Section 16 (2A) of the Maharashtra Private School Service Conditions Act, 1977 to notify that the State Government on July 10, 2020 for teachers and non-teaching staff The right to pension and provident fund has been withdrawn. Non-teaching staff pensions will not be deducted retrospectively from 2005 onwards. For this, the Maharashtra State Teachers Council is agitating in three phases, strongly opposing the suggestion before 10 July.

As the state government did not take any decision, Maharashtra State Teachers Council president Veenuth Kadu, teacher MLA Ngo Ganaar, former teacher MLA Bhagwanrao Salunke, Mahila Morcha chief Pooja Chaudhary led the third one-day hunger strike across Maharashtra.
