Bokaro/Ranchi: Congress MLA from Jharkhand, Rajendra Prasad Singh died at a non-public hospital in New Delhi on Sunday following a quick sickness, household sources mentioned.
He was 75.
The former Jharkhand minister is survived by 4 daughters and two sons, they mentioned.
Mr Singh was affected by a lung an infection and died at 12.30 within the hospital in New Delhi, his private assistant Mithilesh Kumar Tiwari mentioned.
Condoling Mr Singh’s loss of life, Chief Minister Hemant Soren tweeted: “I am saddened at the passing away of Rajendra Singh ji. Jharkhand has lost a hard-working and ”sachha sevak” (true worker).”
Several political and commerce union leaders expressed grief at Mr Singh’s loss of life.
The four-time MLA from Bermo constituency started his political profession in 1963 and went on to grow to be INTUC’s nationwide common secretary, president of the Rastriya Colliery Mazdoor Sangh and an AICC member.
Expressing grief on the loss of life of the sitting Congress MLA and former Jharkhand minister, Governor Droupadi Murmu mentioned he had an extended political life.
The governor prayed to the god for everlasting peace of his soul and power to the bereaved household to bear his loss.
In his condolence message, the Union Minister for Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda, mentioned that Jharkhand has misplaced a soft-spoken chief.
Former Chief Minister and BJP chief Babulal Marandi mentioned, “I am pained at the death of Rajendra Singh ji, who was popular among mazdoor for whom he continuously raised voice.”
Senior BJP chief and former chief minister Raghubar Das described the Congress chief for example for sustaining private relationships regardless of his ideological variations.
“His death is a personal loss to me. Jharkhand has lost a grass-roots leader and it will be difficult to fill the void,” Mr Das mentioned in his condolence message.
In a press launch, the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee mentioned that tributes might be paid to the previous minister at Congress Bhavan on Monday.
It added that the mortal stays of the chief might be cremated at Damodar kargali ghat in his native place Bermo in Bokaro district on May 26.
Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato, Jharkhand Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh, Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, former Congress MP Chandrasekhar Dubey, CITTUs General Secretary Prakash Biplab and a number of other different leaders expressed grief on the loss of life of the dealer union chief.
