Kalyan 3 August:
Like all regions, kovids are now impacting our festivals. Today’s Rakshabandhan festival has not survived this. However, KDMC and Kalyan Indian Medical Association have launched a unique initiative to double the joy of Rakshabandhan for patients admitted to various hospitals. The Rakshabandhan was observed treating the Sai Nirvana Kovid Center of KDMC as well as some private hospital patients and Kovid warriors. This commendable initiative was implemented to the detriment of the siblings who were separated due to Corona.
Many patients have been admitted for treatment at KVMC’s Kovid Center and a private hospital in Kalyan Dombivali. Those who are not able to tie a rakhi to their brother or in the absence of conditions, tie a rakhi to their sister. So there was some resentment among these patients. Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Commissioner Dr. wondered what could be done to allay the patients’ displeasure. Vijay Suryavanshi and Kalyan were the IMA team. From that, we got a unique but very positive option for patients to celebrate Rakshabandhan with Kovid warriors. Here is Prashant Patil.
Female patients admitted to KDMC’s Nirvana Kovid Center celebrated the occasion by wearing local doctors and female doctors and male patients as nurses. This activity was carried out in the traditional way by following all rules and social distance. To make this project a success, Drs. KDMC’s Raghuveer Shelke (Chief Coordinator), Deepak More (Assistant Coordinator) with Sai Nirvana. Suryavanshi and his entire team worked hard.
This unique initiative not only bridged the shortage of siblings, but also provided mental help to the patients here. KDMC and Kalyan IMA’s team would be appreciated for implementing this positive initiative.
