MUMBAI: The Central team has examined the drought affected areas in 40 talukas and the state has asked for aid worth Rs 2,587 crore, chief minister Eknath Shinde told the state assembly. The Central team visited 9 of the 15 affected districts.
Besides the drought affected areas, the state has declared a drought-like condition in 1,021 revenue circles.Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that these areas will also receive many of the concessions including a waiver on electricity bills and school fees in the impacted areas. He also said that the areas affected by calamities between January and October 2023 will receive aid worth 1,757 crores.
