A man in Maharashtra’s Latur district allegedly killed his mother after she refused to give him money to buy alcohol, police said on Sunday. The incident occurred at Satala village of Ahmedpur tehsil on Friday night when an argument between them broke out and the 23-year-old man hit his mother with a crowbar.
Police said the accused demanded money from his mother, Sangeeta Nathrao Mude (40), to buy liquor, but she refused. Enraged over her mother’s refusal, the man picked up a crowbar and hit it on the head of his mother’s head, which led to her death, reported news agency PTI citing officials.
The accused, identified as Dnyaneshwar, locked the door of their home and fled his residence after the incident. Police launched an investigation after getting the information from locals and apprehended the accused on Saturday, a day after the incident.
A man in Gujarat’s Umargam allegedly killed his wife and daughter by pushing them into a river on Wednesday afternoon. Police said he then attempted to take his own life but was rescued by the locals. Police initially registered a case of accidental death, but later changed it to murder after interrogating the man. He was arrested and taken into custody on Thursday.
