The Maharashtra Medical Council has made several changes, which includes removal of entries like Diploma in Ophthalmic Medicine and Surgery (DOMS), Diploma in Dermatology and Venerology (DDV), Diploma in Oto-Laryngology (DORL), Diploma in Orthopaedics (D Ortho), Diploma in Tuberculosis Diseases (DTD), Diploma in Psychological Medicines (DPM), Diploma in Medical Radiology and Electrology (DMRE), Diploma in General Practice (DGP).
Fellowship in College of Physicians and Surgeons, Bombay, in Medicine, Pathology, Surgery or Dermatology granted before April 1, 1954. Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons, Bombay, in any subject other than Medicine, Pathology, Surgery and Dermatology. Member of College of Physicians and Surgeons, Bombay (Admitted before April 30, 1994).
Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons in Oto-Rhino-Laryngology. Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons in Anaesthesiology (FCPS Anae)
Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons in Medicine (FCPS Medicine) Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons in Surgery (FCPS Surgery); Fellowship of College of Physicians and Surgeons in Midwifery and Gynaec (FCPS Midwifery and Gunaec).
.Diploma in Gynaecology and Obstetrics (DGO), Diploma in Child Health (DCH), Diploma in Public Health (DPH), Diploma in Pathology and Bacteriology (DPB), Diploma in Family Planning (DFP), Diploma in Anaesthesiology (DA), Diploma in Transfusion Medicine (DTM), and Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Health (DTM&H).
The notification has been issued by the Department of Medical Education and Drugs, Government of Maharashtra on July 14. The notification will come into force from the date of its publication in the official gazette.
This shall not be applicable to the candidates who have been admitted prior to the publication of this notification. The candidates who have been admitted prior to the publication of this notification shall not be barred from registration with the Council or renewal of registration with the Council.
The colleges/hospitals/ Institutions shall not admit any candidate to the courses mentioned in this notification, the notification says.
