The Cooperage Football Ground in Mumbai served as the battleground for the U-15 Maharashtra State Youth League (MSYL) 2023-24, a football spectacle that showcased the burgeoning talent of 24 teams. A total of 147 matches unfolded, featuring around 600 young players, in a journey that spanned from August 6, 2023, to November 2, 2023.
The league was divided into two competitive groups, with the top three teams from each group advancing to the final round. The competition was fierce, setting the stage for an electrifying title race.
Group A saw Mumbai City FC, D’Souza FA, and Youth Soccer Academy emerging as the top contenders, while Group B witnessed the dominance of Reliance Foundation Young Champs, Rising Pune FC, and Krida Prabhodhini. Both Mumbai City FC and Reliance Foundation Young Champs displayed unblemished records, making their way to the finals without dropping a single point.
In the final league game in what turned out to be a grand finale, the two unbeaten sides Reliance Foundation Young Champs and Mumbai City FC faced off each other again. The game remained goalless during the first half, but RFYC’s young talents ignited the scoreboard, clinching a well-deserved 4-1 victory, ultimately securing their championship title. Despite the loss, Mumbai City FC showcased remarkable talent and determination throughout the season, earning them the runner-up position, while Krida Prabhodhini of Pune clinched third place, capping off the league with flair.
