A thief wanted in connection with the theft of an expensive bike has been arrested by Kalyan Anti-Robbery Cell. The thief was identified as Hyder Akram Irani (30) and eight bikes were also seized from him.
Hyder Irani, a resident of Irani Vastu near Ambivali station on the Kalyan-Kasara railway line, was booked into the Mahatma Phule Chowk police station on 6 August. Assistant Police Inspector Avinash Palade of Anti Robery Squad and his team were on the hunt for Hyder. Meanwhile, the anti-robbery squad was informed that Hyder Irani settlement would come to Ambivli. Accordingly, Avinash Palade and his team lay a trap and catch Hyder’s smile. During the police interrogation, 4 two-wheelers and 1 mobile phone worth Rs 4 lakh 15 thousand were seized from him.
Shantinagar, Khadakpada, Ulhasnagar, Kolsewadi, Kalyan taluka (Titwala) and Pantnagar police stations in Mumbai have registered bike theft cases against this notorious thief. Hyder Sarai has a chain snatcher and has been booked for 14 robbery cases in Nashik, Pune and Thane, Vivek Pansare, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Kalyan Circle 3.
