Kalyan / Dombivali March 11:
Strict restrictions have been imposed by the municipal administration (kdmc covid restrictions) on the increasing incidence of corona in Kalyan Dombivali from today. However, shopkeepers and traders in Kalyan-Dombivali have expressed strong displeasure over the extended time given to hotels, restaurants and bars. It also called for changes to the oppressive rules, including the application of the same rules to all.
After a big gap of 5 months, the number of Corona patients reached 392 in Kalyan Dombivali yesterday, posing a new challenge to the municipal administration. The KDMC commissioner immediately convened a meeting of the municipal health department, police administration and private doctors’ organizations and imposed restrictions in Kalyan Dombivali from today. These range from food carts to wedding ceremonies. Restrictions were imposed on all shops except essentials till 7 pm and hotels-restaurants and bars till 9 pm. However, the KDMC administration made a sudden move regarding the opening hours of hotels-restaurants and bars and allowed it to continue till 11 pm instead of 9 pm. Although the exact reason behind this is still in the bouquet, the shopkeepers and traders of the city expressed their displeasure in strong words.
Will our shops close at 7pm and then hotels-restaurants and bars allowed until 11pm? Does the Corona just spread through our shop? Won’t it spread through hotels-restaurants and bars that start late at night? Such an angry question has been asked by these shopkeepers and traders to the KDMC administration. The shopkeepers-merchants have also demanded that the KDMC administration not change the decision, including making the rules and regulations the same for all. It will be clear in the near future what decision the municipal administration will take now to quell the anger of traders and shopkeepers against the KDMC administration.
What do merchants and shopkeepers say?
We are with the KDMC administration against Kovid. But the KDMC administration needed to consult with representatives of traders and shopkeepers before taking this decision. Also KDMC needs to make the same rules for all as in other places in the state. – Rakesh Mutha
Where the financial crisis last year had begun to recover. Now we are going to be hit again by these new restrictions of P1P2. We are all traders with KDMC. However, they should not be harmed in imposing restrictions, and should reconsider the decision regarding P1 and P2. – Vinayak Thackeray
