Kalyan Grameen MLA Raju Patil has demanded the closure of Tolnaka in Kata to speed up the construction of the Kalyan-Sheel road and the new Nilje bridge. should do.

There is a toll gate of Maharashtra Road Development Corporation at Katiyan on the Kalyan-Shell Road. The toll plaza is charged only by heavy vehicles. The Kalyan-Sheel road is currently under construction and has been dug in most places. MLA Raju Patil said that the road was completely damaged and there were pits at some places. Also, due to the lockdown due to Corona in the state, rail services are closed and other passengers including Thane, Navi Mumbai, Kalyan, Dombivali, Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar, Ambarnath, Badlapur have no choice but to take the Kalyan Shell Road. He has also mentioned in the letter that there is always a traffic jam due to the increase in the number of vehicles and ongoing work on this road.

We had demanded in the District Planning Committee that the toll road should be closed and the system for toll collection should be removed till work starts on this road. But no action has been taken so far, he said. Heavy vehicles have been banned from the road as the bridge at Nilje is dangerous and Tolnaka and its machinery are currently not required. Also, if the toll gate is closed, traffic congestion will be reduced to some extent and work on Kalyan-Sheel road can be speeded up. Similarly, MLA Raju Patil has demanded Public Works Minister Eknath Shinde to immediately remove the system to close the toll gate and start work on the new bridge at Nilji on both sides.
