The SP said that two women died in the accident while 55 others sustained injuries. “Those injured have been admitted to a hospital in Mangaon,” he added.
The local police said they are investigating the reason behind the accident. The Mangaon police station will register an FIR in this regard. The Tamhini Ghat is a hilly terrain and the police suspect the driver may have lost control of the vehicle.
In April this year, 13 people were killed when a bus fell into a gorge in Raigad.
