Mumbai, April 13:
Announcing a curfew in the state from 8 pm tomorrow (Wednesday, April 14), Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has announced a relief package of Rs 5,476 crore so that the economically weaker sections do not suffer. (A curfew will be imposed in the state for 15 days from 8 pm tomorrow; Financial aid also announced)
These strict restrictions will be applicable in the state from Wednesday 14th April 2021 from 8 pm till 1st May 2021. There will be a complete curfew during this period. Only the necessary services will continue. The new orders of ‘Break the Chain’ in this regard have been released today.
Other services will be closed during the curfew except for essential services. Emergency services will continue from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. , buses will continue for essential staff. Veterinary clinics will continue. All pre-monsoon works will continue. Hotels, restaurants take away will continue, said the Chief Minister.
Demand to the Prime Minister to supply oxygen by air
The state is in dire need of oxygen. Transportation is taking a long time for the supply of oxygen. For this, he will ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi to supply oxygen by air with the help of the army. The Chief Minister also said that he would request the Prime Minister to supply oxygen from other states.
There is a huge burden on medical facilities
The current state of corona in the state is putting a strain on medical facilities. The demand for remedesivir injection has increased tremendously. The state seems to be short of oxygen. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has expressed fears that the situation will worsen if the current situation is not brought under control.
The second wave of Kovid-19 has hit the state since March 2021 and the number of victims in this wave is increasing day by day. Strict lockout is being implemented as a result of the need to reduce the number of patients. But during this period, it has been decided to provide food and financial assistance to the economically weaker sections. The government stands by the needy in tackling the Corona crisis. The Chief Minister has also said that he will not allow anyone to be harmed during this period.
*Comfort to all the weaker elements *
Financial assistance will be provided to the economically weaker sections below the poverty line families, women, senior citizens, widows, disabled, unorganized citizens, workers, rickshaw pullers and tribal community. Beneficiaries will be provided financial assistance through the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Department of Industry-Energy-Labor, Department of Urban Development and Department of Tribal Development.
*One month free food *
Food Security Scheme Beneficiaries Under the free foodgrain scheme, about 7 crore beneficiaries in the state will be given 3 kg of wheat and 2 kg of rice per person free of cost for one month.
*Shivbhojan Thali Free *
One month Shivbhojan Thali will be given free to the needy from Shivbhojan Yojana in the state. It is planned to give about 2 lakh plates.
*Financial assistance to pension scheme beneficiaries *
About 35 lakh beneficiaries of Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana, Shravanbal and Centrally Sponsored Indira Gandhi National Old Age Retirement Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Widow Retirement Scheme, Indira Gandhi National Disability Retirement Scheme, Rs. Will be given. .
*Grants to construction workers *
Under the Registered Construction Workers kalyan Scheme, a grant of Rs. 1500 each will be given to about 12 lakh registered construction workers in the state from the funds of Maharashtra Building and Other Workers kalyan Board. Apart from this, a huge fund has been provided for various kalyan assistance for 25 lakh domestic workers in the state.
*Financial assistance to peddlers *
About five lakh peddlers in the state will be given financial assistance of fifteen hundred rupees each. This amount will be directly credited to the peddler’s bank account.
Twelve lakh rickshaw pullers in the state will also be given financial assistance of Rs. 1500 each.
*Assistance to tribal families *
About 12 lakh tribal families benefiting from the Tribal Development Department’s Khawati scheme will get financial assistance of Rs 2,000 per family.
*Building facilities on Kovid *
Apart from this, a provision of about Rs. 3,300 crore has been made for the management of the lockout period at the district level. Out of this, the funds will be given to the concerned districts for medical treatment, equipment, facility building and other arrangements on Kovid.
Apart from this, local self-governing bodies – state government and other government bodies are being allowed to pay taxes, fees and other dues for 2 months of April-May without interest.
Restrictions on hotels and restaurants will remain the same
