Mr. Rajesh Tope has demanded a dose of 2.20 crore vaccines from the central government, which could vaccinate about 5 lakh people in the state every day to curb the rising corona infection in the state. However, the central government has so far given 69 lakh doses to the Maharashtra government and the state still needs 2.84 crore doses and it should be completed as soon as possible, he demanded.
5. While the Maharashtra state government has asked the Union Ministry of Health to start 376 covid vaccination centers in the state, the Union government has sanctioned 209 vaccination centers and the remaining 158 vaccination centers should be sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Health to speed up vaccination drive in the state. He also demanded that it be implemented.
6. While the Union Ministry of Health has demanded a budget of Rs 1.20 lakh crore, a much lower amount of Rs 50,000 crore has been sanctioned, which is only 1.8 per cent of the country’s GDP, which is less than that of neighboring small countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. This ratio is relatively low. He said that in order to make the country a superpower, it was necessary to give more priority to health empowerment of the country.
