Chief Engineer of Welfare Circle, MSEDCL, Dinesh Aggarwal has appealed to customers to submit their meter reading photos through the mobile app so that they can pay their electricity bills according to their actual electricity consumption.
Due to restricted area restrictions, electricity bills were issued to nearly 70 percent of consumers in the welfare sector according to meter readings in June. The average bill was charged from the rest of the customers as per the prevailing method. Due to which MSEDCL had to face great resentment. MSEDCL plans to issue electricity bills to 90 percent of its customers in July as per meter reading so that it does not happen again. Aggarwal, Chief Engineer, Kalyan Circle has appealed to consumers in restricted areas to submit meter readings through mobile apps, so that they can get accurate electricity bills as per readings and reduce customer complaints.
Kalyan, Dombivali, Ulhasnagar, Badlapur, Murbad, Shahpur, Ambernath, Vasai, Wada, Achole, Virar, Nalasopara, Boisar, Dahanu, Jawahar, Palghar, Mokhada, Saphale, Vikramgarh, Talamiri etc. have a total of 2.5 million consumers. Out of this, the current electricity bills of 1.5 million consumers have been generated till 16 July. Out of this, electricity bills of over 1.3 million customers are based on their electricity consumption and meter reading. Customers who could not get meter readings are in a restricted area.
Customers are being guided through webinars, customer meetings, open discussion sessions, registered mobiles, SMS, Facebook, WhatsApp, direct communication from all 40 subdivisional offices of the constituency. Chief Engineer Aggarwal has appealed to the electricity consumers of the area to cooperate with MSEDCL by paying their electricity bills.
Meanwhile, last month, there was a lot of uproar over MSEDCL’s average electricity bill. To prevent its recurrence, MSEDCL has attempted to address customer complaints in various ways over the past few weeks. However, due to the eruption of Corona, the lockdown in Kalyan Dombivali has increased and its employment, industry and business of many citizens have been badly affected. Against this backdrop, it is expected that MSEDCL has prepared keeping in mind the electricity bill.
