Kalyan 6th April:
It has been revealed that the private hospital, which was charging more than the government rates for Kovid patients, has slashed the bill by Rs 50,000.
A 52-year-old man was admitted to Omkar Hospital in Kalyan West for treatment of colic. While discharging this person from the hospital, the hospital administration handed over a bill of Rs 1 lakh 48 thousand to his relatives. The relatives of the patient were shocked to see such a large bill. Aware citizen Ulhas Jamdar was contacted for help. On this, Ulhas Jamdar also met the concerned municipal officials and pointed out the irregularities in the bill. Municipal officials then inspected all the bills and found that they were charged more than the government rates. Ulhas Jamdar informed that the municipal officials immediately instructed the hospital administration to reduce the amount and issued an amended bill. After this, as the patient’s bill was reduced by Rs 50,000, the family members also thanked Jamdar with a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, Kovid patients are on the rise in Kalyan Dombivali and auditors have been appointed to stop the financial fraud of Kovid patients. The Municipal Commissioner has also demanded action against the concerned hospital in this case.
