In Kalyan Circle, 2 lakh 65 thousand electricity consumers faced disruption of power supply on Monday morning due to technical fault in GIS center. In just 22 minutes, electricity supply was restored to all 2 lakh 5 thousand customers.
In Kalyan East and West regions, power supply was restored to all customers by 5.30 pm using all options. Under the guidance of Energy Minister Dr. Nitin Raut and Chief Engineer Dinesh Aggarwal, officers and staff worked diligently to normalize the situation.
60,000 customers affected in Kalyan East and West
KB-1 and KB-2, two feeders supplying power to Kalyan city from Tata Power, were shut down from 10 am to 5 pm. Power is supplied to Kalyan West from the KB-2 feeder.
In Kalyan West, power supply was disrupted to around 50,000 consumers in Vayalnagar, Parnaka, Durgadi, Gandhari Road, Adharwadi region.
Meanwhile, the power supply from the KB-1 feeder to the 90-foot road to Kalyan east of the Tata Netiwali area was disrupted.
These feeders were worked as on the battlefield effort was put to start supplying electricity to potential power consumers via an optional feeder.
Electricity supply to 16,000 customers began at half-an-hour in the morning and exceeded fifty percent by noon. According to the alternate route as well as the power available from Tata Power, around 50,000 customers were restored by 5 pm and 60,000 by 5.30 pm.
2 lakh 5 thousand customers disrupted under 20 sub-centers in Palghar division
Apart from this, 20 substations in Palghar division were disrupted and power supply to about 2 lakh 5 thousand customers was interrupted at 10 am.
Necessary action was taken immediately and power supply was restored to all 2 lakh 5 thousand customers in just 22 minutes i.e. 10:22 am. Kalyan Mandal’s Superintending Engineer Van Sunil Kakade, Palghar Division Superintending Engineer Kiran Nagaonkar inspected the work and speeded up the work. For a short time in Kalyan and Palghar, power supply to all other places in Kalyan region was smooth.
