kalyan April 8:
Currently, there is a huge shortage of injection of Remedicivir in Mumbai including Thane district. However, according to the protocol given by the Covid Task Force, if a private doctor prescribes this injection to an urgent patient instead of everyone else, there will be no shortage. Jagannath Shinde, president of the Chemists and Druggists Association, told Palava News that a large stock of Remedicivir injections will be available in the next 3-4 days.
Relatives of the patients are literally wandering around to get an injection of Remedicivir. Not only the medical staff in the city but also the medical staff in the surrounding cities are getting frustrated. The injections are available only in a few medical centers and the relatives of the patients are standing in line for hours. Against this background, the state government’s Kovid Task Force should prescribe injections to private doctors according to the categories A, B, C, D and E given to Kovid patients. Jagannath Shinde opined that it would be a great help to reduce the current scarcity if it was written only for the patient who needs it without giving it to everyone.
There used to be only two companies for making Remedicivir injections but now there are six. However, he said that the number of private hospitals has also increased due to the increase in the number of corona patients, adding that the current situation has arisen as doctors are prescribing Remedicivar injections to every patient.
Jagannath Shinde has also demanded that the FDA take action against any person or a member of the Chemists’ Association who is black-marketing Remedicivir. He also expressed confidence that in the next 3-4 days, large stocks of Remedicivir will be available and available to the people in abundance.
