Seeing the rapidly increasing number of corona in Kalyan Dombivali, the MLAs have demanded a lockdown here again. Against the backdrop of increasing incidence of corona, Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde today convened a meeting of all MLAs, police officers and key office bearers at Acharya Atre Rangmandir in Kalyan. It was stated that this demand was made by various MLAs from Kalyan Dombivali.
Since last week, more than 100 Corona patients have been found before Kalyan Dombivali and now more than 200. Thane District Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde had called an emergency meeting in view of the rapid growth of corona. In which Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde decided to increase the number of ICU and oxygen beds by 200 each. He also instructed the administration to increase the contact tracing, manpower of doctors, nurses and supporting staff. Further assistance will be provided by the State Government if required. However, he also warned that no help would be given in providing medical services to Corona patients.
Meanwhile, the MLAs present at the meeting expressed the need to take a strict lockdown in view of the increasing prevalence of corona in Kalyan Dombivali.
Municipal administration needs to focus on enhancing municipal facilities during this lockdown period. MLA Raju Patil expressed the view that maximum corona patients can be facilitated after lifting the lockdown.
The names of the responsible officers working for Kovid should be announced by the Municipal Corporation. MLA Ravindra Chavan demanded a lockdown so that it would be easier to contact people in case of emergency.
On the other hand, MLA Ganpat Gaikwad from Kalyan East also expressed the view that the lockdown needs to be observed again against the backdrop of increasing number of patients.
This meeting was attended by MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, Mayor Vinita Rane, MLA Vishwanath Bhoir, MLA Jagannath Shinde as well as Upper Commissioner of Police Dattanay Karale, Municipal Standing Committee Chairman Vikas Mhanane, Leader of the House Prakash Penkar, Leader of Opposition Rahul Damle, City Engineer Sapna Koli-Devanpalli, Deputy Commissioner Vijay Pagar, Bhagwat, Ramdas Kokare, Umakant Gaikwad, Medical Health Officer Suresh Kadam, Dr. Panpatil, Dr. Sarvankar Municipal Secretary Sanjay Jadhav and other officials were present.
