THANE: Chief minister Eknath Shinde, on Sunday, thanked prime minister Narendra Modi for bringing the Ayodhya Ram temple into reality and thereby realizing the dream of Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray and crores of Hindu in India and worldwide.
Shinde was in Thane, Sunday afternoon, addressing party workers and volunteers at a religious event associated with the Ayodhya temple inauguration event.
“The Shri Ram temple is a matter of national pride. I thank Modiji who made Balasaheb’s dreams come true with the temple construction. Many (opposition parties) were only talking about constructing the temple but didn’t give any commitment. Modiji not just facilitated the construction but also confirmed its inauguration date,” Shinde said, urging party workers and volunteers to reach out to every Hindu household in Thane district with the ceremonial sacred rice (akshata) and invitation for the temple inauguration event.
He said Thane also had contributed towards the Ram Mandir construction wherein he remembered how his mentor and late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe had donated a silver brick for the temple decades back.
