Maharashtra | Fire breaks out at gloves manufacturing factory, six dead

Six people died after a fire broke out in a gloves manufacturing factory in the Waluj, MIDC area in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, in the early hours of Sunday, December 31.

Fire officer Mohan Mungse told news agency ANI that they received a call around 2.15am regarding the fire. On reaching the spot, they saw that the entire factory was on fire.

“The locals informed us there were six people trapped inside,” he told the news agency, adding that the people had been rescued from inside and fire extinguishing work was on.

Later it was confired that the six people had died.

Police commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Manoj Lohia told the news agency that the incident was first reported in the control room at 1.15am and the ACP present for the nigh round reached the spot immediately. He said further details regarding the incident will unfold after the probe is completed.
