Railways has published a tender for the construction of Lokgram Pedestrian Bridge adjacent to the railway station in Kalyan East. Railway will do this work soon. The MP for this walking bridge was Dr. Shrikant Shinde had repeatedly met with the Railways. Lokgram’s foot bridge is very important for the passengers of Kalyan railway station. The bridge has been closed to foot traffic due to the danger. To start work on this bridge soon, MP Dr. Shinde met repeatedly with the railway administration. In this regard, several meetings were held with the railway administration. Meanwhile, the railway has issued a tender for the construction of the old bridge. Similarly, as per the decision taken in the meeting of railway officials held on 14 August 2020, the pad work of Kalyan East Lokgram Pedestrian Bridge will start soon.
Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation is expected to pay Rs 1 crore 32 lakh for the estimated cost of bridge work, map drawing etc. The construction of the bridge is expected to cost Rs 70 crore. 40 crore rupees have been sanctioned for this. The remaining 30 crore rupees will be sanctioned from the smart city project of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation. Railways have so far floated tenders for construction of foot bridge only. He also said that a tender for the construction of the foot bridge will be published within the completion of the work. Shinde has been informed. Therefore, there will be no hurdles and delays in starting new construction immediately after the completion of Padakam.
