kalyan March 5:
The Bazarpeth police have succeeded in uncovering the brutal murder of an elderly woman who left Kalyan West shaken. Additional Commissioner of Police Dattatraya Karale told a press conference that the contract worker on the train had done so with the intention of stealing jewelery and money out of debt.
This horrific type of thing happened around midnight on February 27 last month. Hansaben Pravinbhai Thakkar, a 70-year-old woman living alone in Dattali area of Kalyan West, was brutally murdered by slitting her throat. The killing had caused a stir in Kalyan West. The big challenge for the market police was to find out the answer to the question of who and for what reason Hansaben was killed and to arrest the accused. However, in the absence of any clues, the market police used all their skills to crack down on the crime.
Vasu alias Vijendra Krishna Thackeray, 35, of Wadeghar area in Kalyan West, was working as a contract worker on a 35-year-old Ism Ghantagadi. He also used to bring Pavbhaji cart in Parnaka area in the evening. From which he and Hansaben Thakkar were introduced. So he needed a lot of money because he was in debt. Additional Commissioner of Police Dattatraya Karale said that Hansaben was alone in the house and it would be convenient for him to steal from it. Last Saturday, Hansaben asked Vasu to pick up the garbage from the back of the house. Taking this opportunity, Vasu broke into his house and killed Hansaben with the intention of stealing. However, as nothing was found in his house, he had to flee from there empty handed.
The case was investigated by Kalyan DCP Vivek Pansare, ACP Anil Powar, Bazarpeth Police Station Senior Inspector Yashwant Chavan and Inspector Rajendra Ahire and his team.
