div id=”pcl-full-content”>Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday said that the Maha Yuti alliance, comprising the Shiv Sena, BJP, and the NCP’s Ajit Pawar faction, secured a stupendous victory in Maharashtra’s gram panchayat elections, largely attributing their success to his “government’s work”.
Taking a dig at his predecessor, Uddhav Thackeray, CM Shinde pointed out that the opposition had spent a year taunting and criticising the government. He further said that the Maha Yuti coalition had secured a significantly higher number of seats than the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), PTI reported.

The Maha Yuti alliance collectively secured 1,486 seats out of the total 2,359 local governing bodies. While the Maha Vikas alliance, comprising Congress, the NCP (led by Sharad Pawar), and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackarey), secured 546 seats.
Ajit Pawar led-NCP faction wins 30 seats in Baramati
Ajit Pawar’s NCP faction achieved a notable victory by winning 30 seats in Baramati Taluka, where panels supported by his group dominated the elections, claiming victory in 30 out of the 32 gram panchayats. Even in Katewadi, Ajit Pawar’s ancestral village, the NCP-backed Jay Bhavanimata panel emerged victorious.
Although these rural elections do not involve contesting under party symbols, the candidates are often associated with political groups.
These elections marked a significant electoral test for the NCP in rural Maharashtra following a split in the party on July 2, when Ajit Pawar and eight loyal MLAs joined the BJP-Shiv Sena government, taking oaths as cabinet ministers.
