The crime branch has uncovered a gang selling fake ghee on the backdrop of festive season. Police has arrested 5 people in this case.
Kalyan Crime Branch was informed that fake ghee is being sold in Gograswadi area of Dombivli. According to the police, they laid a trap and raided the area and there were large quantities of fake ghee are being sold.
Alpesh Gore told the police that fake ghee was being manufactured in Dahisar, Bhayander and Mira Road areas adjoining Mumbai. Accordingly, the police raided the place and seized the necessary materials and machinery to make fake ghee. Five people were also handcuffed.
The main accused are Chandresh Mirani, along with Jimit Gathani, Saud Sheikh and Dhanraj Mehta. All these were using Dalda Ghee and Soya oil to make fake pure ghee using artificial flavors. And they were packaged and sold under the names of reputed brands like Govardhan, Amul, Krishna. All of them have been captured by Kalyan Crime Branch and lakhs of rupees have been seized from them.
